Check for leaks

It’s easy! Follow these steps:

  1. Ensure no water is being used in the house. Turn off all taps (except for the stop tap next to the water meter and at the toilet).
  2. Read your water meter and record all of the numbers displayed on the dial.
  3. Wait 30 minutes and read the numbers again.If any of the numbers displayed on the meter have changed, this change could indicate a leak.
It’s a good idea to repeat the test before you engage a licensed plumber to investigate.
